Solafune wins second place at largest startup event in Japan
Solafune, Inc. (President and CEO: Ren Uechi) won second place at IVS2024 LAUNCHPAD KYOTO on Friday, July 5, 2024.
Solafune, Inc. is a startup that offers satellite data analysis technology to governments of countries in the Global South, including Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, which are experiencing significant economic growth.
The satellite data analysis platform "Solafune" managed by Solafune is used by engineers and data scientists from around the world to compete in developing satellite data analysis technology online, and is currently used in approximately 100 countries. To date, around 19,000 algorithms have been developed on this platform, including technologies for analyzing locations where mining is being conducted.
Solafune continues to strive to solve major global challenges by aiming to describe all events on Earth with software, under the mission "Hack The Planet."

IVS LAUNCHPAD is one of the largest pitch contests in Japan and is said to be the gateway to success for the next generation of entrepreneurs. Finalists are selected through a rigorous selection process from among more than several hundred applicants, and give a 6-minute presentation in front of a panel of judges selected from investors, managers, and entrepreneurs, presenting their products and their passion and competing for the top position.
