Solafune Signs MoU with Democratic Republic of Congo at TICAD
Solafune held MoU ceremony with the National Geological Service of Congo

On August 22, 2025, Solafune Inc. (CEO: Ren Uechi), a company specializing in satellite data analysis and the operator of the satellite data analytics platform Solafune, is pleased to announce that it held an official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with the National Geological Service of Congo (NGS-C) during the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9).
The ceremony took place at the Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu, attended by high-level delegates led by H.E. Mr. Louis Watum Kabamba, Minister of Mines, with attendance of H.E. Dr. Lukumwena Nsenda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of Congo in Tokyo, Japan, together with Ms. Kelly Lunda, CEO of the Taskforce Presidency, and Ms. Nina Masangu, Chief Staff of the Ministry of Planning.
The MoU, signed by Mr. Raoul Wazenga Vitima, Director-General of the NGS-C, and Ren Uechi, CEO of Solafune, aims to strengthen cooperation in applying remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and AI technologies to mineral exploration, operational monitoring, illegal mining detection, and environmental monitoring.
The event featured welcome remarks from Solafune, guest remarks from DRC representatives, the signing ceremony, and a press Q&A session. Both parties emphasized that this collaboration marks a milestone in leveraging cutting-edge satellite data analysis and geospatial technologies to promote sustainable resource development and combat illegal mining activities.
