Solafune Hosts Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense
Discussed defense uses of satellite data and the space domain at the Marunouchi HQ

Solafune, Inc. (CEO: Ren Uechi) welcomed Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense Kazuhiro Kobayashi to its Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku headquarters on July 30, 2025. During the visit, Solafune outlined its focus areas, including its satellite data analysis platform, mineral resource analysis models, and overseas expansion with an emphasis on Africa.
Both sides exchanged views on business strategies related to defense and economic security, and the delegation observed discussions among Solafune’s international employees, underscoring the company’s global, multilingual R&D environment.
Both parties agreed that leveraging the space domain and satellite data will become increasingly important in the defense field. The Vice-Minister also expressed expectations for the continued growth of Japan’s startup ecosystem.
