Solafune Forms Contract with IOM

Solafune, Inc. (CEO: Ren Uechi), is proud to announce its contract with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on a groundbreaking initiative aimed at enhancing community resilience and disaster preparedness through advanced satellite monitoring.
■ About IOM
The International Organization for Migration, a related agency of the United Nations, is the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration, dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. Since its establishment in 1951, IOM has worked closely with governments, intergovernmental organizations, and NGOs as a specialized agency in the field of migration.

■ Background
This collaboration is part of a project implemented by IOM and funded by the Government of Japan, focused on monitoring and managing border areas and improving natural resource management and optimizing water resource monitoring through the use of cutting-edge satellite and geospatial technologies. Solafune will contribute its expertise in satellite data analysis to detect and analyze environmental and socio-economic impacts at an early stage. This work will support risk assessment and mapping of natural hazards such as floods, droughts, and severe weather events. The project’s goal is to identify habitations that are at risk from natural hazards, currently and in the future, where climate change is an important consideration, ultimately informing public policy and strengthening national disaster response capabilities.
This contract reflects Solafune’s ongoing commitment to leveraging technology for sustainable development and humanitarian impact.
