Solafune Announces Collaboration With Microsoft to Develop Generative AI for Satellite Imagery
Solafune Inc. has received support from Microsoft for Startups, provided by Microsoft Corporation (Washington, USA)

Solafune Inc. has received support from Microsoft for Startups, provided by Microsoft Corporation (Washington, USA). With the help of Microsoft's resources, Solafune is thrilled to announce that it will commence developing Generative AI for satellite data.
Background
The use of earth observation data acquired by satellites in business has been growing in recent years, leading to a higher demand for satellite data analysis technology. However, developing AI-based analysis technology requires a vast amount of data, which is expensive to acquire. Additionally, licensing restrictions pose significant hurdles in the development of AI analysis of satellite data.
Details of Collaboration
Solafune and Microsoft work together with the aim of reducing the development hurdle for satellite data analysis AI by providing low-cost, license-free satellite data as an API.
In the future, the dataset generated by this technology is expected to be used as input for training models for AI development, as well as AI architecture through creative AI output.
Solafune has previously contributed to the development of satellite data analysis technology through data science competitions. On the other hand, Microsoft Corporation is a global leader in the field of generative AI, with its Azure cloud infrastructure. To tackle acquisition cost and licensing issues, Solafune and Microsoft have decided to collaborate on the development of Generative AI that generates remotely sensed data like satellite imagery and aerial imagery.
