Solafune has been selected by Microsoft for Startups.

Solafune, Inc. (headquartered in Okinawa, Japan; Ren Uechi, President & CEO; hereinafter "Solafune") is pleased to announce that it has been selected by Microsoft Corporation (Washington, USA; hereinafter "Microsoft") to participate in Microsoft for Startups and will collaborate in the field of satellite data analysis using Microsoft's resources.

Background

In recent years, there has been growing interest in the business use of earth observation data acquired by satellites (satellite data). Solafune is developing its algorithm licensing business through the operation of "Solafune," a data analysis competition platform aimed at utilizing satellite data. Microsoft is also developing Azure, a well-developed infrastructure platform, and Github, a source code management tool, which have been globally adopted by many companies. The collaboration between the two companies will support the business use of satellite data more.

Through this collaboration, the two companies will strengthen support for business applications, including algorithm development and provision of infrastructure infrastructure, for companies facing challenges in analyzing and using satellite data for business purposes.
