Responsibilities
Solafune is working to solve social and corporate issues using satellite and geospatial data by providing a data analysis competition platform. Engineers from all over the world participate in the competitions held at Solafune. Therefore, the design and implementation of UI/UX for engineers and design that does not depend on a specific local region are required.
We are looking for people who can gain deep insight into what users want to achieve and output it as a design, and people who can pursue a comfortable design for users based on hypothesis setting and testing.
Required Skills
Research experience using SAR and geospatial data
Ph.D. in remote sensing OR equivalent level of work experience and skills (negotiable)
Programming experience with Python, R, or other GIS-related tools
Problem-solving skills (identifying challenges, coordination with stakeholders, etc.)
Reading and writing skills in English (our internal documents are in English)
Preferred skills and experience (Nice to have)
Research or industry experience using SAR in the context of mining, forestry, agriculture or defense
Demonstrated interest in working outside of the area of expertise
Competition, machine learning, etc.
Experience in committing to OSS
Experience in leading development or research projects
Experience in participating in data science competitions such as Kaggle
Ability to write clear and concise reports in English
Ability to speak English at a business level
